Workers’ Compensation

We are a fully-staffed six-physician, one physician assistant and one certified nurse practitioner practice, that not only provides comprehensive family medicine, but also specializes in all services relating to worker’s compensation and pre-placement physicals.

We currently provide services to over 150 industries in the Eastern Montgomery area. Pre-placement, DOT, respiratory and executive physicals can be done in our office at the convenience of both the employee and the employer. With the institution of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the emphasis of these examinations has dramatically changed, with the focus now on the ability to perform functions required by the job. We routinely review job specifications and requirements that the prospective employee will be required to perform prior to the physical exam. Should there be any concerns after the examination, before the employee leaves our office, we call the personnel department to discuss these concerns. Our corporate clients find this prompt personal communication beneficial to efficient management. Along with the physical exam, we can customize the screening to suit the individual needs of the employer by addition of any or all of the following: audiometry, spirometry, electrocardiography, urinalysis, x-ray (back & chest), and drug and alcohol screening. Urine, drug and alcohol screening is frequently utilized by companies not only in pre-placement screening, but also in conjunction with initial work-related injuries and accidents. As the process itself is vital to the accuracy and privacy for all parties concerned (i.e the employee, employer and we as intermediaries), we strictly adhere to chain of custody procedures and confirm all positives by Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry Confirmation. Upon receipt of results by our office, a designated individual at the company is notified by phone and a photocopy is mailed the same day. Turn-around time for negatives is 24 hours; Positives are usually confirmed in 72 hours.

In addition, we offer prompt evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries such as strains, sprains, contusions, burns and lacerations, and repetitive motion injuries. An injured employee is seen on an urgent basis. Following each visit, we notify the employer immediately of the nature and severity of the injury, outline our course of therapy, give a return to work date, and any restrictions that may be necessary. Furthermore, we encourage the employer to call our office with any questions and to discuss each case individually. Our on-site x-ray eliminates the need for an employee to make an additional trip to the hospital. In the event an employee is severely injured or ill and requires emergency hospital care, we can monitor the progress of the hospitalized employee at Abington Health Lansdale Hospital.

Our philosophy of caring for the injured worker is to maintain a safe, yet productive, work environment and to return an injured employee to the job as soon as possible while assuring that the health of the employee is not compromised. We welcome the opportunity to meet with you and to tour your work site.

We would welcome any questions or interest in these services. Please contact our office for further information.
